Week 1 of college football proved to be entertaining, but Week 2 is set to provide even more fireworks.

There are plenty of college football picks already to choose from, but let's zone in on three big matchups this week and take a closer look at how the college football odds have moved, and any impending weather that may play a role in the outcome.

Featured college football Week 2 odds

Alabama vs Texas

The Alabama Crimson Tide covered their 41.5 spread with ease last week, shutting out Utah State 55-0. The Texas Longhorns were also able to cover their massive spread, beating the Warhawks 52-10.

Alabama currently sits as a 20-point favorite, with the total sitting at around 66. Although both teams started the season 0-1 O/U, that had more to do with their opposition's ability to score the ball rather than their own.

Kentucky vs Florida

The Florida Gators were the talk of the town last week, upsetting No. 7 Utah in a 29-26 victory. That win even got Florida some love in our college football power rankings. The Gators currently sit between 5.5 and 6-point favorites after opening up as 4.5 faves over the Kentucky Wildcats, who are also coming off of an impressive win of their own.

USC vs Stanford

Both USC and Stanford are coming off easy wins from Week 1, but it's the visiting side that finds itself as a -7.5 fave. This line originally opened up at -9.5 for the Trojans, but was bet down. On the other side, the total opened at 65 but was bet up to 67.5 as of writing.

College football Week 2 news

Pittsburgh on a high

Pittsburgh had one of the most electrifying wins last week, winning off of a late fourth-quarter pick-six in front of 70,000+ fans. Tennessee will prove to be a much bigger challenge, but the Panthers may still be buzzing from Week 1.

BYU's first test

The BYU Cougars will be joining the Big 12 next season, and their first look to see if they can hang with the big boys will come Saturday against the Baylor Bears. Oddsmakers believe they can as the Cougars are currently sitting around 3-point faves for this tilt.

Hawaii in the dumps

After all of the drama surrounding the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, a countless amount of transfers have left this program skeletal. Vanderbilt pounded the Warriors' guts out 63-10 in Week 0, and then Western Kentucky came along last week and won by 32 as 15.5-point favorites. Now, Hawaii must face the Michigan Wolverines, who can be found as high as 51.5-point faves to continue the nightmare that is the Rainbow Warriors' season.

College football Week 2 injuries

Texas Tech vs Houston

Texas Tech won 63-10 last week, but it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows as staring quarterback Tyler Shough was injured. However, backup Donovan Smith looked fantastic in relief, completing 14 of 16 attempts for 221 yards and four scores, with no turnovers. With Shough expected to miss 3-6 weeks, Smith has more opportunity to show what he's got for the Red Raiders.

Arkansas State vs Ohio State

Although Ohio State won't need him to win this week, wide receiver Kamryn Babb remains sidelined with a knee injury. He reaggravated it during fall camp, but news has come out that he should be back sooner than later. Without his presence, expect Marvin Harrison Jr. and Jaxon Smith-Njigba to get plenty of looks from one of the Heisman betting favorites, C.J. Stroud.

College football Week 2 weather

It'll be bright and sunny skies down in 'ole Texas when the Crimson Tide and Longhorns do battle at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. That's good news for Over bettors who are aiming to reach a number hovering around 66.

Staying in the south, them boys down in Florida will be SOAKING, as the weather machine is calling for rain during this matchup. Rain is never usually a good thing for Overs, so keep an eye on that report when placing a total bet for this slobberknocker.

Lastly, temperatures will be sitting around the mid-80s when USC and Stanford knock heads at Stanford Stadium, with partial clouds throughout before the sun is fully engulfed. No precipitation is expected as of writing but you may want to keep an eye on those winds that are currently projected to be blowing around 14 mph.
