On June 8, 2024, horse racing betting will turn its focus to the third and final leg of the Triple Crown in 2024 — the Grade I, $2 million Belmont Stakes.
The "Test of the Champion" received a purse boost of $500,000 and has been temporarily relocated to Saratoga Race Course while construction takes place at Belmont Park. The race has also been shortened from the traditional 1 1/2-mile journey to 1 1/4 miles — the same distance as the Kentucky Derby — due to the dimensions of Saratoga.
