To most, 82 games is a long time to tie up your money, but the NBA seems to hold the best value in my opinion when it comes to backing a few teams and correlating them with other future options that work hand in hand.
The past few seasons have proven to be very profitable for me, and hopefully for many others who have joined me for the season long adventures.
Teams I will be backing this year are Bucks, Hawks, Raptors, Jazz, Mavs, Trailblazers, Grizzlies and the Timberwolves
Thus players correlated to these teams will also be backed, such as Doncic, Lillard, Young, Mitchell among others.

As always, I will be happy to chat about anything NBA related, whether it's directly about my future investments, or the day to day grind known as the NBA regular season.
I apologize in advance if I do not respond quickly, but I will do my best every chance I have to offer my opinion whenever asked.
Also, like in all my past year long threads, I ask to keep the karma positive, and any truly obscene negative trolling will not be tolerated.
At the end of the day, I am just like anyone else who enjoys covers as part of their normal life routine, and my ultimate goal is to win more wagers than I lose...here's wishing everyone who is currently reading this a very profitable upcoming NBA season!

Why so down on the warriors? Also seeing you nibbled on pretty much everyone for MIP other than Poole.
To me, these odds would be warranted if the Warriors had Klay from the jump...but that's just not the case, and I am of the belief that he won't be anywhere near the caliber he was before...the team is Steph and 4 other guys on the court at the same time...I do not see a true team concept here for 82 games...which leads me to their win total under.
Poole has yet to accomplish anything significant in his career, and I don't think this team is deep enough to allow him the space and time to develop into a top tier player this season.
Also, I feel like coach Kerr is dead man walking with the dynasty days long behind this team... with a lot of new players who have no loyalty to his coaching style...he may lose the locker room respect early in the season if they struggle out of the gate.

great stuff! as a local who isn't high on raptors at all this year, I'd love to hear your reasons for taking them. bol this year!
This franchise will show pride and guts this season, now that they are able to play true home games and take advantage of one of the league's best home court advantage from arguably the most interactive fans...there's now accountability for the young next generation of this team, Van Fleet will likely take the next step as a fringe all star type player...Anunoby and Siakam make up a very solid athletic fast young 3 some which should keep them in most games...they will compete hard and try to prove to themselves the past 2 years was covid related...don't forget, this team never truly had the chance to have a "defend the title" type season at home under regular circumstances...Boucher could still improve, Flynn and Barnes will be allowed to play lots of minutes and score.
This team is the embodiment of heart, and I think Ujiri has a few moves up his sleeve at the deadline to trade Dragic if his stock is high...Dragic has every reason to buy in this year and prove he's a worthy 6th man for a contender at the deadline...him coming off the bench will be a huge advantage to the Raptors 2nd unit, this is assuming he understands the importance of him being a true team player between now and February.
Regarding the east, I see regression in general for teams like Philly, New York, Boston...I am not a believer of the Nets and can see that team imploding via injury and/or Kyrie drama...Chicago, Indiana, Miami will be average at best...I'm not buying into the Heat lovefest...Lowry is not likely going to get thru the season without some sort of injury, I just don't see that team living up to the hype.
Toronto will have many winnable games as short dogs this year...I think the oddsmakers truly underestimated the Raptors here, basing their RSW totals based on the last two covid seasons, specifically the brutal one they had last year.

Fair points, I really do agree that Kerr could lose the locker room early, his rotations are bad and that has been swept under the rug the last few years. Disagree on Poole. His per 36 minute stats are 23ppg and he’s a solidified starter this year. He showed he can legitimately put up 20ppg on starters minutes post all-star break of last season and this pre-season (averaged 23 this pre-season which is exactly his per 36). In terms of Steph and 4 other guys as the offensive strategy, I think the best bet is draymond slinging to sharp shooters all around the court. Curry,Wiggins,Poole,Otto, belijica all shoot around 40% from deep I can see dray playmaking to these guys as the offensive strategy. They will be top 3 in the league this year in 3 point attempts. Nonetheless best of luck.

surprised i didnt see the bulls on your list in post #1 i like the mavs as well, doncic MVP odds to low for your liking? Twolves a good sleeper team GL PB
I like the Bulls from an individual player standpoint, they put an all star of rag tags together in a blender and now this season will be their taste taste...I don't think they will achieve team success like many experts believe they will, but I do like their ability to score and play a very exciting brand of basketball that people will enjoy watching. Zac LaVine has superstar status available to him this season if he can stay healthy, him and Vucevic will be filling up the stat sheet on a nightly basis.
But I don't see them being a formidable defensive team and that will most likely be the reason they underachieve and miss the playoffs.
You know me well...Doncic odds do not warrant a play at this point in time...maybe later once the season gets rolling.
Minnesota is my sleeper team, but it all hinges on KAT staying healthy and wanting to prove something to himself and to the league that he can be a leader on a decent team...the chemistry he showed with Edwards and Russell at the end of last season was something worth noting...now if Vanderbilt takes the next step in his career, Beverley humbles himself to play his role as a defender and energy guy, and their new coach lays down the law and earns the respect of his team from the beginning, this team has a great shot to start the season with a few good wins and carry that positive mojo all year long.

I forgot to mention I'm very low on Wiggins, and never thought much about Otto either...if Poole takes the next step, he will very likely have a career season with everyone looking to game plan stopping Steph...Poole being their 2nd best player will have the green light to fill the stat sheet every night.

I see the raptors being worse than last year. No weakness was addressed and they’re without pascal early. If OG is putting up numbers it’s curtains if they want success.

any opinion about the pelicans 39.5 wins??i absolutely fuccing LOOOOVE the under just looking at their roster...it is not talented and not deep and got a first time head coach..zion is a late starter and who the hell knows how long he will ever last when he does play...and whilst the west is no juggernaut of incredible talented, elite teams it is pretty strong with parity across a bunch of about 7-9 squads that should all nab 40+ wins, which doesnt leave much for the pelicans...i see lakers, nuggets, clippers, jazz, suns, mavs, warriors, blazers all being clearly superior to new orleans and then you got other unknowns that might make a push such as memphis,t-wolves.....its hard to see where the pelicans find 40 wins with guys named graham,hayes,alexander-walker,hernangomez,lewis,temple,satoransky,marshall sprinkled throughout their roster........if zion and ingram dont both go supernova/MVP all season and get good support from valancunius this team might struggle to hit 30 wins.
please tell me im completely wrong...i hate it when i like a bet so much.

In my opinion, Pelicans are going to have a very long, rough & tough season...and the talk about Zion leaving for a better franchise will heat up in 2022

With Sneaky P out early, I think this could help the really young players just go out there and get more minutes letting their offense take over...team chemistry might be the biggest winner early on with Spicy's absence

@packersbackers Do you post nightly plays? Sorry if I missed them. My first year following your basketball.
I am definitely not a volume capper in the NBA, but I almost always take a look at the overnight lines to see if there's something the pops off the card...I follow the league on a daily basis and am definitely plugged in the best I can be

yessir, didnt even mention that...will his mind and heart even be in it??and he is their marquee player that absolutely MUST carry them and be fully commited..he is no dummy,im sure he has the good sense to look at his roster and in the back of his mind realise the future is pretty bleak in that city, big time player wanna be on winning teams obviously and the way guys go about it these days they always got their eye on the next "best' situation/destination...if they get off to a rocky start and fall behind it is very easy to see zion shutting it down at some point...either by "injury"(legitimate or otherwise) or just not being engaged and/or load managing.
the more i look at it the harder it is to see the big mouth birds cracking much more than 30 wins
