$20,000 in food and gas vouchers (other consumer products like electronics, furniture, fuel, electricity bills etc are acceptable

Or

$30,000 in free bets from the sportsbook of your choice (either one or multiple) The 30K can be split into as many bets as you like, only for sports betting  or horses an_horse  ie no poker or casino games
As always the stakes are not included in your winnings poker fingershake

Which would you rather have and why ?

Great question. I’ll take the 30k in free bets. Best reason I can come up with is I get 4x points on food and gas with Amex and my gas is a business expense

The only thing that matters here is if you get the stake back on your winning bets with the 30k.

If you do get stake back, no brainer 30k in bets.  You can always take 30k in bets, bet both sides of a game for roughly 15k, and pay the juice on one side and end up with 29k.

If you don't get stake back, then the 20k is the choice all day long.

Really simple actually.  But good question.

Yeah that's the thing you don't get your stake back as part of the bet like pretty much all the free bets sportsbook give out these days the stake isn't included in the returns

as you said people would just bet both sides of a game or put the 30K on a dead cert and walk away with the stake money and some loose change

the thing about this offer is to see if bettors would rather take a year's supply of groceries and fuel or go for a 30K bankroll and try and 'double it up ' and make 30K in profit

as you know most degens would be ill disciplined and make stupid bets because they wouldn't see it as their money and as the 30k would slowly dwindle down to 10K after a couple of weeks they would then probably go all in with the remainder on a some 'sure thing'  since hey it's free money after all  an_2drinks

Me I would go for the 30K in free bets and try to aim for at least 25 - 27K over the course of a season ... totally doable  peace_5 smiley_3

@I-Got-5-On-It

OK...  With that explanation... Mark me down for 20k in pennies over 30k in free bets.

With no rollover, the $30k. With the rollover, ooh … still the $30k because I’m a degen lol

Since the sports betting expectation for profit is 52.5% I'll take take the guaranteed $20K.

Especially with the rate of inflation in sky-rocket mode.

FREE bets ALWAYS has a catch.... nothing is free anymore...so I'll take the gas and such and use my own investing for winning and losing.peace_5an_popcornpeaceclover

most of us likely want the free bets. thinking we can stretch it out longer than gas and food. our hierarchy of needs is different here.

I would like to point out that there would be no rollover requirement  but it's disappointing to see that some bettors would be thinking about spliting the 30k into 2 opposing bets on the same game and walk away with 15K an_shake

30 grand would be a nice bankroll to have for the season
