Agree with you, McDonald loss is huge. Gattis is whatever. He ran a good pro style offense, which really isn't the hardest thing to do at Michigan. Hopefully they do not lose any commits over it as this has to be their best recruiting class in prob 10 years. I saw Keon Sabb from IMG play this year and he is a game changer. I was really hoping the Buckeyes could land him.

But they got to beat Ohio State once. It will be another decade and a half before that happens again and they are never going to beat the top tier of SEC for a long time. Harbaugh wanted out too but couldn't get a job where he would have total control. I mean if I remember right Nebraska probably would have clobbered Michigan in the on Split National Championship year they had as the Huskers were smashing everyone. Charles Woodson would have been a non-factor vs Frost and the option. Didn't Nebraska basically go on a four year run of NC and the Press just wanted someone else to win? Long time ago.

Michigan played a common foe in 1997 with Nebraska. Colorado.

I think Nebraska kept peaking at the end of years on top of being ridiculously talented and physical.. Those bowl games where they got to prep they just ran people over, I think they would have done the same to Michigan similar to what they did to Peyton Manning in his last game in the Orange Bowl. Manning and that offense was much more of a threat than anything Griese and Michigan would have brought, and no college defense could really do much to stop them at the time on offense.. and it's not like Vols didn't have talent on defense either, they had a good physical bunch that year.. Michigan was a good team but Nebraska was better.

Michigan “lost a coach” in DB prior to last year and MM came in and was great. Minter runs the same scheme. Will it be better? We’ll see but the schedule certainly sets up for some nice in game learning curves
Might be in the minority here but the loss of Gattis will turn out to be an upgrade. Never understood the hype around him and players seem to love the new duo running the O. Think this is going to be a huge year for that unit.
Just my opinion but think the coaching changes are good ones, would have preferred to keep MM but Minter and Clink have a ton of talent to work with, wouldn’t be shocked if the D is slightly better than last season.

No fan of Gattis either, expect offense to improve. Minter is wait and see along with younger defense. Yes Minter was with Ravens so terminology will be pretty much the same yet he is not McDonald. Going to be hard to match last yrs D.
The first three games will really help. Expect to see a lot of reserves getting experience.
Made my first play; Colorado St @ Mich. Over 57.5.

Have to agree there. Michigan might approach that number solo. 52-17 type of game I can see. Do think the M defense will be pretty good with how many athletes they have. Should look great in the OOC schedule but we’ll see when B1G play starts who they truly are. Some young studs in that secondary. LB’s are good & their are a couple of edge guys who I think will be well known names nationally by the holiday season..
