Hope everyone is making it through without any college football.
One of my favorite future bets I make each season is the future Heisman. I treat it just like buying a lottery ticket as it is so unpredictable.
I think most will agree that Young and Stroud are the sure fire picks, but with odds at +200 and +400 that simply isn't worth playing for me. A few of my early favorites thus far are:
TreVeyon Henderson +6000 (RB OSU) - What a season a true freshman. I think he will get a lot more carries this coming season as this is one of the best ways to help out the OSU defense. OSU returns three of five starters on the O-line, one of whom was hurt when they played Michigan.
Braelon Allen +5000 (RB Wis) - This guy is an animal. He just now turned 18 years old. The way Wisconsin runs the football I expect him to put up some crazy numbers this season.
Wildcard: Jaxon Smith-Njigba +6000 (WR OSU) - This kid is great. Will be interesting to see if can put the same or better numbers with him being the guy who will double teamed every game this coming year rather than Olave or Wilson. If the Rose Bowl game is any indication of things to come, he is certainly in the mix.
These picks may suck as yes, the Heisman is QB award, but I think we are due for RB. However, removing the lack of value with Young and Stroud, I do not see a whole lot of risk/reward value for many other QB's right now.
Anyways, I would love to hear any thoughts or picks of your own. If nothing else it makes for some good conversation while we wait for 2022 season.

+2000 Tyler Van Dyke QB Miami Looks like a top 5 pick. Arm strength through the roof. Straight gun slinger. Broke records down the stretch.
If you think He has a shot at the Heisman...then you should take Miami to win the ACC...Because..there is ZERO shot that he is winning the heisman unless he gets to the college playoffs....Ask Kenny Pickett about the heisman....Heisman winners go to players on team playing that are in contention for the Natty.

I like the Henderson pick. Will probably take a flier on JJ McCarthy at 66/1. Has a veteran OL protecting him and weapons galore on offense. Expecting the UM D to take a bit of a step back but the offense should score a ton of points. Also, Michigan with the easiest looking schedule they’ve had in years….
All this assuming he’s the starting QB. Obvious issue with this pick is the split time with McNamara.

Jaymar Gibbs is an interesting pick as he may be the premiere RB at Bama this year. Alabama may look to go back more to run game this season like I see OSU doing.
Some sites have Gibbs at +8000 while others have him at +3000. I may take a nibble with +8000 odds.

Somewhere on covers there is a game thread from the Week 1 Ducks @ Buckeyes game where I say, "Mark my word. CJ Stroud will win next season's Heisman." Wish I could have made that bet then.
All these dudes were like, "He sucks! He's overrated!" All mad because they are squares and bet on Ohio St. I kept thinking, "These guys clearly don't know football. This kid is making every throw on the field." Ohio St runs a very college offense. It's great for garnering QBs Heisman consideration but not great for preparing QBs for the next level.

1) Jaymar Gibbs (RB - Bama) I got him at +8000 a few weeks back. (I still see him at +6000 on Fanduel. Other places have him as low as +600) The value is just too good to pass up. I have no doubt that he will be Alabama's go to RB this season and will also put up a lot of receiving yards as well. $100 play.
2) Treveyon Henderson (RB - OSU) I got him at +6000. Basically a repeat of everything about Gibbs. I think OSU with a new line coach will go back to run first team this season, which will also greatly help the defense. $100 play for me.
3) Will Anderson (OLB - Bama) - I got him at +6000. Is it time for a purely defensive player to win the Heisman? $50 bet.
