College World Series favorites
Wake Forest Demon Deacons (+700 to +750)
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons have five players ranked in the Top 45 ahead of the 2024 MLB Draft, including potential No. 1 overall pick Nick Kurtz, who has 39 homers over two seasons (110 games) for the program. Chase Burns (No. 9) and Seaver King (No. 17) are the two biggest additions for Wake Forest this year. Burns struck out over 14 batters per nine innings for Tennessee last year, while King hit .411 for Division II Wingate in 2023.
LSU Tigers (+750)
The LSU Tigers will need to replace staff ace Paul Skenes and sensational shortstop Jordan Thompson if they want to become the first repeat CWS champs since 1997. Postseason star Thatcher Hurd and Alabama transfer Luke Holman could fill the former's shoes, while Brady Neal, Paxton Kling, and Jared Jones could all step forward at the plate in their sophomore campaigns.
