With the U.S. Open just around the corner, the Tour's best are looking to sharpen their games with the next stop being the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village.

The field is highlighted by Rory McIlroy as well as World No. 2 Jon Rahm, who held a six-shot lead a year ago before withdrawing due to a positive COVID test. Patrick Cantlay went on to win in a playoff over Collin Morikawa to claim his fourth PGA Tour title.

Favorites to win the 2022 Memorial Tournament

Jon Rahm (+1,000)

After putting a bit of a drought to rest with a win at the Mexico Open a few weeks ago, Jon Rahm fell flat at the PGA Championship, finishing just T48 after entering the week as a betting co-favorite.

However, this week should make for a great bounceback spot, with the Spaniard having won here in 2020. He also carried a six-shot lead through three rounds a year ago before a positive COVID test forced him to withdraw.

Expect Rahm to get back in form with a key title defense at the U.S. Open just weeks away. As such, he enters the week a +1,000 betting favorite.

Rory McIlroy (+1,100)

Just behind Rahm on the board is one Rory McIlroy (+1,100).

Rory is also returning to action after a disappointing (for different reasons) PGA Championship. He held the first-round lead with a 5-under 65, but couldn't parlay that into strong play on the weekend, ultimately finishing eighth.

However, he remains in strong all-around form (and much more consistent than this time last year), finishing runner-up at Augusta National and solo-fifth at Wells Fargo. Could this be the week of Rory's 21st Tour win?

Patrick Cantlay (+1,600)

While Patrick Cantlay remains one of the best players on Tour, the Memorial defending champ hasn't been the ball-striker he was when he dominated the FedEx Cup Playoffs last fall.

Either way, he's posted some good results this season. He followed up a playoff loss at the RBC Heritage with a win at the Zurich Classic alongside his good buddy Xander Schauffele.

With that in mind, his third-best odds this week (+1,600) are well-deserved as he aims to defend his 2021 title.

Notable longshots for the 2022 Memorial Tournament

Cameron Young (+4,000)

Cameron Young finds himself in contention time and time again this year, having already posted three runner-up finishes this season. He's also on a T3-T2-T3 run through the PGA Championship.

However, he continues to find himself with mid-range odds, this week at 40/1. If you believe a win is coming for the youngster, this is a strong number.

Bryson DeChambeau (+8,000)

Another week, another question mark for long-bomber Bryson DeChambeau. The long-bomber hasn't played since the Master amidst a handful of nagging injuries.

While expectations won't be very high, expect a ton of eyes to be on him if he does in fact tee it up at Muirfield.
