The Formula 1 universe went north for the Canadian Grand Prix at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Quebec.
After a dominant run that includes five Grand Prix victories in seven tries — including last week in Baku — Red Bull's Max Verstappen sits atop the board as a -275 solo betting favorite. That run has also given him control of the No. 1 spot in our F1 World Drivers' Championship odds and our Canadian Grand Prix picks are expecting yet another strong weekend.

Canadian Grand Prix favorites
Max Verstappen (-275)
Verstappen was a minus-money favorite to win ahead of the weekend and he has only furthered his status as the weekend has progressed. The championship leader has dominated proceedings up to this point and wasn't challenged for pole until the final lap of the session. He'll start on the front row tomorrow.
Carlos Sainz Jr. (+450)
For a moment it looked like Sainz might take pole from Verstappen in the dying moments of Q3 on Sunday but a loose exit from the final turn cost him. Sainz will start on the second row tomorrow, in third, but to make gains he'll have to do so alone, with teammate Charles Leclerc starting 19th after a grid penalty.
Fernando Alonso (+1,200)
Save for Verstappen, the ageless Fernando Alonso has been the most impressive driver throughout the weekend, regardless of conditions. The Alpine driver temporarily set the fastest time repeatedly in Saturday's qualifying, ultimately unable to edge out Verstappen. Yet, Alonso will start on the front row tomorrow in second.

Understanding F1 betting odds
The most popular way to bet on Formula 1 odds is by simply picking the winner of a particular race. Other popular F1 betting options include which car/constructor will win and whether or not a particular race car driver will end up on the podium with a Top-3 finish.
F1 race odds usually look like this:
- Sergio Perez +1,400
This means that on a $100 bet, you'll stand to profit $1,400 if Perez wins that particular race. If one driver is especially dominant, you might see a minus sign (-) ahead of that driver's odds like this:
- Max Verstappen -120
This means that you would need to bet $120 to win $100 on Verstappen winning the race.
